SAN ANTONIO – A man suffered life-threatening injuries after being shot during an altercation at an apartment complex on the Northwest Side, according to San Antonio police.
The shooting happened just before 8 p.m. Thursday at the Villas at Bandera Apartment Homes in the 9800 block of Camino Villa.
A preliminary report from SAPD said the victim and suspect went into an apartment unit, and an altercation took place over some property.
During the altercation, at least one shot was fired and the 19-year-old victim suffered a gunshot wound to his chest, police said.
The suspect fled from the scene and has not been located. His age is unknown.
People at the scene drive the victim to a nearby hospital.
Shortly after, officers received a call stating that a wounded man had arrived at a nearby hospital in an SUV, according to police.
The man was transported to a different local hospital because the other one was not a trauma center, SAPD said. The victim’s condition is unknown.
Police obtained a search warrant for the apartment, but the report did not disclose any further information on this.
SAPD’s investigation is ongoing.
